JAY DAY 31/07/07
|
Cadets from 2442 (Westbury-on-Trym) Squadron played an instrumental part in celebrating ‘Jay Day’, a retirement send off for the Lord Lieutenant of Bristol, Jay Tidmarsh. The Lord Lieutenant has been an avid supporter of youth groups in Bristol for nearly 50 years, and in particular has been very supportive of 2442 squadron. In honour of his untiring work, 2442’s sqn band led the procession with the Lord Lieutenant and special guests through College Green to the Council House in the centre of Bristol. Over 1000 young people from Bristol took part in activities such as rock climbing and canoeing on College Green and cadets from 2442 Squadron set up a stand to publicise the Air Training Corps.
